Insights

I wish that someone would have told me that it is okay to change your mind. I switched majors in my sophomore year, but I was contemplating it for a while. I wish in high school people emphasized that its okay to change your mind in college and that college isn’t something you have to rush through. Yes you want to finish undergrad in 4 years but if you don’t that is okay too.

Other Advice/Information

I worked in admissions for a little bit while working on my Masters degree. I want high school students to know that your GPA isn’t the most impressive thing on your resume. A lot of people can get a 4.0, as an admissions counselor I wanted to know who the student was. What activities did they do? What community services were they interested in? Yes, your GPA gets you in the door but the rest of your resume, is really what the schools are looking for.
