You donʻt need to have a 4.0 perfect GPA to pay for college. Itʻs possible to pay for most if not all of your college tuition through a mixture of grants, scholarships, and financial aid. Nothing is out of your reach, you just need to get help from the right people.

Yu Noguchi '17

Psychology | Womenʻs Studies | Japanese & Peace and Conflict Studies Minor


Yu Noguchi graduated from PCHS in 2017. They are currently in their last year at the University of Hawaii at Manoa as a double major in Psychology and Women's Studies with minors in Japanese and Peace and Conflict Studies. Yu attended Kapiolani Community College for 2 years, gaining their Associates in Arts Concentration in Psychology before transferring to the University of Hawaii at Manoa in the Fall of 2019. After UHM, Yu plans to attend graduate school with the career goal of becoming a therapist, providing accessible and affirming therapy for Asian/Asian Americans and/or Queer/Trans People of Color. Yu plans to attend graduate school in Fall 2021 for either Master's in Psychology/Counseling or Social Work.

Other Advice/Information

Connect with others that you have similar interests in or in the field that you want to get into. There's a lot of ways to connect especially now through social media; Facebook, Instagram, TikTok. Theres a lot of people in your field that are openly sharing their journey through college, even if you donʻt directly interact with them you can still learn a lot. Thereʻs a lot of free materials out there, you just need to know where to look.
