The Board of Directors

Janae Theodore: Scholarship Director

Janae Theodore graduated from Pearl City High School in 2019 and currently attends Seattle University as a Nursing major. Having moved away for college and not being thoroughly aware of opportunities available at home, Janae understands the importance of making a fully informed college decision. She knows students are capable of accomplishing so much and doing great things wherever they are, but it doesn’t hurt to have support and guidance from people who have experienced similar journeys. Janae would like to thank everyone in advance for their cooperation and collaboration to create a more generous and willing community.

Sean Sugai:

College Director

Sean Sugai graduated from Pearl City High School in 2019 and currently attends the University of California, Los Angeles as a double major in Pre-Human Biology and Society and Anthropology and plans to minor in Public Health. As a first-generation college student, Sean understands both the importance of obtaining a higher education and the difficulties students confront as they strive to reach that goal. However, he is confident and optimistic that alumni and community engagement will be instrumental in securing more inclusive, accessible, and equitable resources that can turn those doubts into a tangible reality. Sean has high hopes for the future of the association and is excited to meet everyone who wants to make a difference at Pearl City High School.

Amelia Pike:

Communications Director

Amelia Pike is a proud alumna of Pearl City High School’s Class of 2019. She currently attends Creighton University, where she is majoring in Nursing and minoring in Health Administration and Policy. When Amelia was in high school, she had absolutely no clue what she wanted to pursue; however, through the help of all the fantastic teachers, faculty, and staff at PCHS, she was able to find her passion for helping others through the health sciences. She hopes that this alumni association will help the next generation of Chargers fulfill all their aspirations and dreams as they take on the world.

Kyle Miyashiro:

PCHS Student Activities Coordinator

Kyle Miyashiro (Class of 1990) is currently the Student Activities Coordinator at Pearl City High School.  After graduating from Chaminade University, Kyle has had many roles at Pearl City High School, from a teacher, tennis coach, administrator, and now with his dream job of working with students that want the best for Pearl City!  As the Alumni Association starts up again, Kyle feels that all our students can compete for college admissions and scholarships but need the partnership from our school and outside community support. By having this partnership, students will be equipped with the skills and knowledge to be competitive with their peers.

Cade Sugiyama:

Mentorship Director

Cade Sugiyama is a proud graduate of the Pearl City High School Class of 2020. Currently, he is a freshman at the University of Southern California with a major in business administration. Cade finds this association extremely important because not only will it allow Pearl City High School alumni to connect with and assist those in other generations, but it will also help to strengthen the Charger Ohana. Greater than, though, he sees this association as a way of fostering the success of high school seniors in their transition to whatever may lie ahead through offering opportunities to students that he wishes were available when he was in high school. Cade is excited to see this association grow and looks forward to working with you all!
