Layla Fidel graduated from PCHS in 2013 then went to Seattle University where she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a major in Marketing, and minors in Chinese and Entrepreneurship & Innovation. She moved back to Hawaii after college where she is now an Officer & Branch Manager at Bank of Hawaii.

What type of training/education is appropriate for this position?

To be a Banker, you’ll need education in Business Administration or Mathematics due to the need to be competent at computing to offer the best financial solutions to customers. To be a Branch Manager, you may need supplemental interpersonal skills and leadership training since you lead a team of people.

What is one piece of advice you would give to current high school students?

Let go of the things you can’t control! You make your life exponentially more difficult when you try to change things that aren’t yours to change.

What is one thing you wished you knew about your career while you were still in high school?

When you base your life on hard work and passion, you will always be on the right path. It might be twisty and turny (maybe even bumpy), but it’s the right one. Give yourself grace even when you think you don’t deserve it.
